TatuajeCabaiguan Guapo |
||||||||||
Another Pete Johnson creation, the Cabaiguan cigars are blended and rolled in classic Cuban tradition. The Guapos, with a pig-tail cap and a band with silver trim, use the Ecuadorian wrapper to give a spicier flavor profile to the cigar over the original Cabaiguan blend. |

PRE-SMOKE |

A beautifully constructed cigar, the Guapo's light sungrown wrapper is silky smooth with very fine veining. Our samples had some green spots visible in the wrapper that did not affect the flavor or burn. The scent is of light cedar turning more grassy at the foot. A clean clip of the pig-tail cap produced a good cold draw, and more of that clean, sweet tobacco and grassy flavor. |

BURN |

The draw remained excellent throughout the stick. A medium gray ash is produced by the slightly wavering burn line, and holds on very well. Good volumes of smoke are produced which are also very fragrant. |

THE FLAVOR |
||||||||||
Initially the cigar puts out some pepper / spice, but quickly mellows out to a very tasty creamy, toasty wood. Sweet notes of vanilla and caramel appear throughout the first third making this a very pleasant smoking experience. The sweet wood flavor base carries through the middle of the Guapo, with the creaminess and the sweet notes also continuing. The smoke remains in the mild to medium range. In the final third of the cigar, some accents of light chocolate and sweet tobacco underscore the continuing woodiness. Some reviewers have found coffee and/or citrus flavors in this cigar, showing it's complexity and ability to appeal to a range of cigar lovers. |
