This 17-year-old expression predominantly features ex-bourbon maturation, with the addition of spirit that has been wholly matured in Spanish wood ex-sherry casks, predominantly Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso. This adds a subtle depth and complexity to the whisky, and one of the longest finishes around with continuing flavor transformation. Color: Red Amber with rich autumnal hue. Nose: Oak and pralines, traces of apples and pears, with a whiff of smoke. Body: Full and smooth. Palate: Sweet with soft fruits - kiwi, guava, peach. Finish: Long, sweet salty barley with maple syrup turning to milk chocolatey notes. ABV: 46% Awards: IWSC 2008 Best in Class Gold, SFWSC 2006 Double Gold, IWSC 2005 Best in Class Gold, IWSC 2015 Silver Outstanding, IWSC 2014 Silver |
