One of the core expressions for this classic distillery, the 12 year old delivers an outstanding performance year after year. Wonderful balance of the whisky pillars of peat, smoke and wood. A great "go to" dram that would be a value even at a much higher price. Color: Burnished gold. Nose: Assertive, sweet, malty and smoky. Body: Lush and slightly oily. Palate: Charred marshmallows, ripe apples and pineapple, peat. Finish: Heather with a dry gentle smoke on the finish. ABV: 40% Awards: 2009 SFWSC Silver, 2008 SFWSC Double Gold, 2006 ISC Gold Medal. |

SUGGESTED CHOCOLATE PAIRINGChuao - Candela, Parchita and PicanteCandela is the one for those of you who love peat. But you can't err with the pairing of Parchita's tropical fruits or Picante's ripe fruit and spicy filling to please your palate in three different ways. Its your choice! SUGGESTED CIGAR PAIRINGDon Pepin Garcia Black Cuban Classic 1979 RobustoThis match pits a young whisky against a classic cigar and you come out the winner. The sweet citrus and vanilla flavors, and the subtle smokiness of the malt are accented by the pepper and spices of the cigar. Let the long finish of the whisky fade slightly before puffing to get the most enjoyment out of the pairing. |
