Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old |
Highlands |
A Highlander with some peat. Very restrained at first and the heather honey is dominant, but the peat shows through in the end. This single-malt whisky straddles the border between the grassy style of the lowland malts and the firm body of the Speysides. Dalwhinnie could be enjoyed as an aperitif or for as a restorative. Color: Bright gold. Nose: Aromatic, honey and fruity with delicate smoke. Body: Firm, oily and rounded. Palate: Smooth, a taste of heather-honey, then grassy-malty sweetness. Finally a burst of peat and faint smoke. Finish: Long finish, very malty. ABV: 43% Awards: SFWSC 2010 Double Gold Medal. |

SUGGESTED CHOCOLATE PAIRINGChuao - Miel and Black & WhiteThe sweet cereal taste of Miel's honey almond praline center makes this confection a wonderful match for this classic Highland malt. For more malty goodness pair with Black and White's dark chocolate and gristy almond, hazlenut filling. SUGGESTED CIGAR PAIRINGLa Aurora 100 AnosA stunning cigar for a classic malt. The La Aurora is visually a treat, puts out tons of aromatic smoke and is so complex and flavorful you will enjoy every puff. A floral twist to the cigar plays very well with the heather honey in the Dalwhinnie, making this a pleasant and relaxing combination. |
