Arran Cream Sherry Cask

This dram's finish in a cream sherry cask is wonderfully evident.  Arran is one of the newest distilleries having begun production in 1995.  With stocks nicely developing and coming to maturity, it began release of those new expression beginning in 2005.  Since then the industry has taken notice and in 2007 bestowed upon Arran the most prestigious Distillery of the Year award.

Age:  No age statement.

Color:  Light gold.

Nose:  The sherry aroma is immediate and unmistakable.  Pastry and ripe fruit notes develop with time.

Body:  Rich and astringent due to high ABV.

Palate:  Notes of toffee, apple and date with sherry clearly evident.

Finish:  Long and complex with toasted oak and tea emerging.  There is a slightly metallic taste at finish.

ABV:  56.6%

Chuao - Picante and Dark Grignottine

The sumptuous fruit and spiciness of the Picante increases the depth of flavors in this malt, while the orange peel and nuttiness of the Grignottine prove to be equally well matched.
