The Resurrection Dram 2001 commemorates the first spirit of the revived Bruichladdich distillery since its rescue from obscurity by private investors led by Mark Reynier, past founder of independent bottler Murray McDavid ltd.
Under the stewardship of Master Distiller Jim McEwan formerly of rival Bowmore, this "First" spirit was distilled in 2001 and bottled in 2008. Using a rare experimental 10ppm malted barley from the Islay region, Resurrection was matured in American Oak ex-bourbon casks. The complexity and richness are quite a suprise for its young age. Enjoy this delightful dram which is the first of many excellent expressions that have helped Bruichladdich become one of the fastest growing brands of single malt. It is truly making its mark as independent and innovative following a stunning rebirth of this legendary distiller.

SUGGESTED CHOCOLATE PAIRING
The gritty texture, maltiness and spice of Candela makes for a wonderful alternative taste sensation. Click here to purchase.
SUGGESTED CIGAR PAIRING
The unusual smoky, sweet, peppery flavor in the Illusione interacts well with the peat, medicinal, and herbal flavors in the Resurrection Dram. Both malt and cigar are moderately strong in flavor as well, so neither overpowers the other. Click here to purchase. |
